Arnold, Michael F., baptized into the hope of Christ's resurrection, Thursday, March 19, 2015. Beloved husband of Sharyn Arnold (nee Davis) for over 40 years; loving father of Michael D. and Angela (nee Jokerst) Arnold and Meghan Arnold (Bond) Wilkison; amazing grandfather of Logan Michael Arnold. Dutiful son of Francis J. and Florence (Zurfluh, dec.) Arnold. Loving son-in-law of Bill and Jean Davis of Warrenton, MO. Blessed Brother of Peggy (Peter, dec.) Hamacher, Paul and Beth Arnold, Frank Arnold, Karen (Chris, dec.) Simpson, Terri (Bill) Trankle, Mary and Doug Olds, and David and Lina Arnold. Beloved brother-in-law of Bill and Linda Davis, Patty and Ben Pilla, and Pamela & Steve Cooper, uncle, great-uncle, cousin and friend to many. Michael began his working career with Stix, Baer & Fuller and was retired from AT&T. He felt he was much too young, had more to offer and so became an adjunct instructor in the Options Program at Fontbonne University teaching business classes. He also began substitute teaching in the Parkway School District, primarily at Southwest Middle. He was loved by those he taught and when diagnosed with late stage non-small lung cancer in August 2012 was heard to say that he would 'steal' the energy of his students to help keep him going. He did indeed, fought the hard fight against this insidious disease and we were blessed to have him in our lives over 2 1/2 years post-diagnosis. Special thanks to Drs. John Finnie and Robert Frazier at the David C. Pratt Cancer Center, as well as the loving support of staff, who aided Michael in his cancer journey. Services: Memorial Mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Manchester, Monday, 1:00 p.m. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the David C. Pratt Caner Center at Mercy Hospital, St. Louis, American Heart Assn. or Free to Breathe.
